English in Action

by Emilia Wessiack and Lisa Pernlochner, 3b

In the week from the 6th to the 10th of February, the 3a and 3b had their "English in Action" week.

As every year, the workshop was a lot of fun and we learnt a lot. With the four teachers from the UK, who worked with us, the week passed very quickly. We only spoke English and learnt a lot of new vocabulary. We played a lot of games and did grammar exercises. The best part was that we rehearsed a play, which we performed on Friday in front of all parents and teachers and the students from the second forms. While the 3a showed a funny piece of the "Titanic" and a case of "Sherlock Holmes", the students of the 3b went on a trip to London as "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and performed a funny sketch about "channel hopping". The show was a complete success.

The second forms are really looking forward to their "English in Action" week next year. Hopefully they will have as much fun as we did!

A very special week

by Laura Oberacher and Sarah Unterthiener, 3a

The English in Action week was a great and nice week for all of us. We learned a lot and we also had lots of fun. We played funny games and prepared for the sketches.

It was interesting to get to know people from England and to learn something about their country.

Sometimes it was not so easy to understand them because they only spoke in English. Finally we did it all well and understood most of it and we had a great time together.

The performance at the end of the week was really fun. It was nice to see the sketches from the other students.

It was a very special week and we all will never forget this time.

A terrific week

by Sophia Mössmer, 3a

I really enjoyed the English week we had in February. I thought it was a lot of fun to learn more about the UK. We played many funny and entertaining games and we achieved some knowledge about the culture and language.

Another great point was the interaction with the “people from the UK” in class. We gained a better understanding of the language from people who speak English every day.

Overall, I loved the “English in Action week“ and I think it was an amazing experience that I won’t forget.
